Their search for answers takes them on a fast trip across Europe to Avignon, France, and the famous Palace of the Popes. In the course of their investigation, the children learn about Saint Catherine and the history of the Church in the 1300s when the papacy was forced to flee from Rome to Avignon for safety. The book features peeks into the cultures of both Italy and France and teaches a few Italian and French words and phrases.

The story is ok, but it could be better. The illustrations are a bit disappointing, they could be better.
I don't like his/her drawing style.
My daughter has read all 4 of the books in this series and has absolutely loved them! When she finished the first one, she begged me to order the rest. It has been a wonderful resource for bringing the richness of the Catholic faith to life.
My ten year old loves these books and has read every one in the series. Interesting and fun story - educational as well.
